Elections Director -- The Westmoreland County Board of Commissioners
today named James Montini as Director of the County's Elections Bureau.

In keeping with a pledge he made a decade ago, Westmoreland County
Commissioner Tom Balya is donating $3,500 to a variety of local charities
and vocational schools.

Prison Earns Top Grade From State -- The Westmoreland County Board of
Commissioners today announced that the County Prison received the highest
possible score (100 percent compliance) during a recent state inspection of
the facility.

Westmoreland County Approves $1.75 Million in
Environmental Projects -- Conservation and community enhancement efforts
in Westmoreland County will receive a $1.75 million boost through the
state's Growing Greener II County Environmental Initiative Program. The
Westmoreland County Board of Commissioners -- Tom Balya, Tom Ceraso and Phil
Light -- today designated 21 separate conservation projects for funding.

of improvements to enhance services provided to families by the county
Children's Bureau. The actions are based on recent findings by the
Children's Bureau Task Force -- an independent panel that conducted a
comprehensive study of the Bureau for more than a year.
