Vanity Fair Exposes Trib's "Vast Right-Wing Hypocrisy" --
Richard Mellon Scaife, billionaire bankroller of conservative crusades,
spent heavily to expose Bill Clinton’s "Troopergate" misbehavior. Now
Scaife’s divorce from his second wife, Ritchie, is providing another
unsavory saga -- adultery! addiction! assault! dognapping!?! -- as both
parties let loose to V.F.
2007
November 7, 2007 -- A Victory is Ours
-- I have to admit a certain sense of satisfaction
right now, and not just because we retained a majority on the
Board of Commissioners. The November 6 election in many ways was
also a rejection of the Tribune-Review.
November 2, 2007 -- Our Letter to the Editor -- Unedited
(Episode 2) -- Again, the Trib sanitizes our efforts to alert voters to
the truth. In clarifying the intentional misrepresentations of this
newspaper, we also pointed out many glaring elements of one of our
challengers' finance reports.

Our Letter to the Editor -- Unedited --My thanks to the Trib for
printing my and Tom Ceraso's recent letter to the editor. It is the least
this newspaper can do to show some semblance of balance. However, the paper
continues to do disservice to voters through its selective editing.
September 7, 2007 --
Dunbar's Resume -- The Rest of the Story -- Admittedly, I was pleasantly
surprised reading the recent article exposing George Dunbar's hypocrisy in
talking about finances when he oversaw the finances of a company (Wright
Industries) shortly before it went bankrupt, while also revealing the facts
of the county budget.
July 17, 2007 -- The
Lapdogs are Barking -- The latest diatribe from the Trib proves further
what we've been saying all along -- that this paper is a lapdog for Ward and
Dunbar. Shameless, and insulting to county residents really, that the
newspaper can take an innocuous "Whispers" item and turn into yet another
flimsy, one-sided editorial.
July 9, 2007 -- Perfect
Arrogance Indeed…From the Trib -- You had to know it was coming: a
ridiculous, baseless editorial criticizing nearly every aspect of county
government and how we manage it. The title itself, "Perfect Arrogance", is a
strange choice, given it was written by nameless editors who have spent
absolutely no time really studying county government, let alone its
challenges or solutions.
June 26, 2007 -- Campaign
Funds Used to Promote the Truth -- I am not surprised that the
Tribune-Review would criticize Tom Ceraso and I for having raised more money
than our opponents. Given the limited campaign funds our opponents have
managed to raise, I expect this partisan paper to somehow find fault with
our successful efforts.
May 21, 2007 -- Hardly
Objective Analysis --
The Tribune-Review's May 18th post-election "analysis" piece on the
commissioners' race left much to be desired, particularly the misleading
headline. It makes an unrealistic, yet I'm sure intentional, leap in
including county commissioners as part of an "anti-incumbent wave".
May 14, 2007 --
Article About Prison Gets It Wrong...Again
-- I have come to expect biased, slanted reporting
from the Tribune-Review, but the recent article concerning the
installation of a new security system at the county prison goes
beyond bias; it is flat wrong.
